Extradition, Extraneous, Extravagance

Last August, a Thai court rejected a request from the United States for Mr. Bout’s extradition on terrorism-related charges, but the ruling was reversed last week by an appeals court. The United States moved to extradite him quickly, sending a special plane to stand by.

The new system compounds the shortcomings of print media with those of electronic media — and makes matters worse with hard-to-read, hard-to-understand instructions and a lot of extraneous nonsense.

His countrymen wanted His Majesty to be happy, but some also thought so many spouses were an extravagance for a poor, tiny nation. After all, the king, Mswati III, often provided these wives a retinue, a palace and a new BMW.

Anti-aircraft, Antibiotic, Antartic

"NATO defines anti-aircraft as 'all measures designed to nullify or reduce the effectiveness of hostile air action.'"

The Antarctic is the region around the Earth's South Pole, opposite the Arctic region around the North Pole.

Mishap- "A mishap during a test of a Pratt and Whittney engine may increase pressure on the administraion to seek an alternate for the F-35 fighter, lawmakers and military analysts said.

Supersede- "In today's world, many believe that their "rights" supersede all other considerations, like what is respectful, considerate and decent."

Interdict, interlude, intervene

Interdict
"The U.S. Border Patrol uses a combination of personnel and technology to interdict smuggling activity along egress routes from the border,'' he said.

Interlude
What Odell experienced as a brief interlude of snow and sleet could have been far different for Mallory and Irvine, several thousand feet higher.

Intervene
Lai was removed from her position with Project Focus in January, but maintained her core job as assistant to the city manager, after Norfolk Police investigated Lai for alleged obstruction of justice for trying to intervene on behalf of gang members under investigation by police.

Bigamist, Biped, Bier

(Bigamist) A spokesman for the Utah attorney generals office discusses the decision not to prosecute bigamists.

(Biped) I only knew that when, millions of years back the ape came down from the trees, as a biped, as man.

(Bier) Well, there was some savory fill (wraith, bier) but the SOS theme did seem a little tired in comparison with the recent.

Abrogate, Misnomer, Polyglot

"The Iranian plant is hardly profitable for Russia, but many others elsewhere are, and Rosatom has an interest in showing it will not abrogate a contract under pressure from the United States."

"On the other hand, there are enormous, highly compelling reasons to want to homeschool (really a significant misnomer, since it is not necessarily "school" and can take place anywhere, not just "home"--but that is another discussion)..."

"Brion Gysin was an experimental polyglot who lived on multiple continents and collaborated with William S. Burroughs, Alice B. Toklas, and the Rolling Stones, among others."

Your Ongoing Mystery

I remember what happened. I vividly remember where and when it happened. However, I can never seem to remember how it happened.

THE ONGOING MYSTERY

GOOOOD MOOORNING VIETNAAAAAAAM! Will Chalkers voice boomed through my ears shutting down a peacful dream and awakening my senses. The smell of B.O. filled my nostrils, I opened my eyes, blankly staring at the inner screen cover of our tent. A familiar site now, the screen was covered in mosquitos and flies almost to the point to where the outer green rain tarp wasn't visible.
